CONSTRUCTION

The construction of Suurpelto started in January 2007.

Once the apartment development began, the headstone of Suurpelto was installed at the end of Klariksentie, where the coonstruction first took place in 20th of August 2009. The regional automated waste collection system in Finland has been implemented in Suurpelto. The system is integrated in every residential building of the area.

The infrastructure has been planned so that it enables the residents and services to settle down in Suurpelto.  The area will be built and diversified for the next 15 years. Suurpelto is one of the biggest development and construction project in the metropolitan area.  Confirmed plans are located in area I & II, where the construction work is already progressing. The city plans for areas  IV & V have been accepted by the City Board and are now waiting for confirmation. Drafts of the town plans for areas  VI & VII are about to be published.

CITY PLANNING

The plans of the park city enable and facilitate the settlement of residents and services in Suurpelto. The area will be built and diversified for 15 years. This is one of the most significant development and construction projects of the millennium in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The approved town plans are located in Areas I and II, where construction is progressing well. The town plans for Areas IV and V have been approved by the Town Planning Board and are awaiting approval. Draft town plans for areas VI and VII on the other side of Ring Road II are coming to be seen.

SUURPELTO III

A diverse residential area is planned for the field area between the Lillhemt detached house area and Suurpello Lillhemtinpuisto. The town plan is approved and legally binding 1.2. Since 2017. Municipal engineering planning has started.

SUURPELTO IV

Housing, business premises, public services and a recreation area are planned for the area on the basis of the general plan. The Town Planning Board has proposed that the plan proposal be approved by the city government. Approval of the formula requires land use agreements.

The legally valid Kyläsepäntien plan comprises the main collector streets of the Suurpelto IV and Suurpelto V town plan areas and the general areas necessary for the construction of municipal technology. For approval, the formulas proceed in stages as separate formula areas: Kyläsepäntie , 330800 , Suurpelto IV 330900 and Suurpelto V, 330700 .

In accordance with Suurpello's planning objectives, the area will be zoned as an urban and garden city-like residential area, taking into account the valuable cultural landscape. On the basis of the general plan, apartments, business premises, public services and a recreation area have been planned for the area.

SUURPELTO I

The town plan and the change in the town plan will enable the construction of a new urban residential and workplace area, related business and service premises and green areas to the west of Ring Road II. The whole of new construction is connected to the scenically valuable cultural landscape. There are good connections to the Central Park from the residential areas. During the planning, the possibilities of changing the current parallel plan reservation of the town plan on Ring Road II to a multilevel interface will be explored. Another connection to the city's street network will be arranged in the area via Ylismäentie.

SUURPELTO II

The conversion of the undeveloped office block 21045 into residential construction is being studied. The planning takes into account the significant location in terms of the cityscape, the scenic starting points and the restrictions caused by the traffic on Ylismäentie.
