In Suurpelto. all houses are connected to a new, environmentally friendly waste collection system, where organic waste, mixed waste and recyclable paper travel underground. There are feed chutes for the waste in the yard of the housing company. Once dropped into the chute, all waste is sucked into the waste terminal, where each type of waste has its own collection container. From the terminal, full containers are transported to further processing.

Waste passes through an underground pipeline to the collection station at the speed of 70 km/h. 4. At the collection station, waste is sorted to the right waste containers. 5. The air is cleaned with filters. 6. Trucks pick up the full containers and transport them for further processing.
You should only put appropriate kinds of waste in the feed chutes in order to ensure the operability of the system. The automated waste collection system is an investment in ecological site development. Dustcart traffic is significantly reduced, the safety of the courtyards are improved, nature is saved, and sorting becomes easier and more hygienic.
OTHER WASTE
By also sorting your other waste, you will help the environment. There are containers for the cardboard in the yards, and containers for glass, metal, batteries, cardboard and clothes in the Suurpelto waste terminal. As more residents move to the area, chutes will be brought closer to the blocks.
